John Primus and Katherine "Kate" Krantz

Wedding portrait of John Primus and Katherine "Kate" Krantz. They may have been married in Melrose, Minnesota, since the photography studio stamp says Melrose. Kate's parents, Mathias and Anna, lived in Melrose, Minnesota, during the last part of their lives. Kate was the only sister of Elizabeth's grandfather, Marcus Krantz.

The photography studio was H.A. Terwey in Melrose. The original photo is 4x5.5 inches, mounted on a 4x6.5 inch matboard.

Wedding portrait of Joseph Krantz and his wife Teckla

Wedding portrait of Joseph Krantz and his wife Teckla (I'm not sure of the spelling of her name). While I do not know the other two members of the wedding party, I would guess from appearances, that the "Best Man" is the brother of the bride.

The photography studio is Gesme, located in Paynesville, Minnesota. The original photo is 3.75x5.5 inches, mounted on a 6.75x10.75 inch matboard.

Marcus Krantz and Theresa Ahl
Wedding portrait of my grandparents, Marcus Krantz and Theresa Ahl. They were married in Grand Rapids, Wisconsin, on November 26, 1907. He was 29 and she was 24. After the wedding they went back to live in Alberta, Canada, where he had been living for 5 years. They met through a personal ad that he placed in a newspaper, looking for a "good Catholic woman. Intention marriage."

There was no original of this photo in the old Krantz album that my mother had. This is a scan of a 3" x 4.5" black and white reprint that I got from Auntie Ann.
