 Portrait of John Ahl and his wife Anna Holtzer (Holzer). They were the parents of Theresa Ahl Krantz. The studio mark on the mat says "Mason, Marshfield, Wisconsin". I believe they lived in Hewitt, Wisconsin for a while. Hewitt is a small town not far from Marshfield.
Original photo is a 4x3 inch oval mounted on a roughly 5x7 inch matboard.

Portrait of Mathias Kranz/Krantz and his wife Anna Endres. They look fairly young here, this could be their wedding portrait, but I'm not certain, since they appear to be wearing regular clothes. Perhaps they didn't have fancy wedding clothes.
